BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Public health has become an important field contributing to health promotion and health crises management. Digital tools are now critical to support public health decision-making.

This training course aims to give an overview on this issue.

“On Job” training is recommended.

SUMMARY

This Course has 2 Modules, 6 Sessions (to be organized according to the specific requests of the hospitals, either on place or online). The Sessions description is:

Module 1:

  • Session 1: Going through analytical tools and processes for evaluating evidence for public health (Meta-analysis, risk assessment, economic evaluation, expert panels, and consensus, among others). 
  • Session 2: Going through analytical tools and processes: opportunities from Digital Public Health.
  • Session 3: Collection and use of surveillance data for syndromic, laboratory, clinical, sentinel, social, and behavioural analysis. Practical exercise.

Module 2:

  • Session 4: Digital tools for public health. Basic principles on IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) and how telemedicine is changing the healthcare assistance (and interaction with patients). Drones in Public health.
  • Session 5: Evidence-based decision-making systems in Public Health emergencies. Project Exercise. 
  • Session 6: Situation Rooms and Smart Cities in the context of Public Health, Collaboration with Hospitals and Primary Care. Hands-on exercise and Course assessment.
