BRIEF DESCRIPTION

This course will present theoretical concepts of AI. The course demonstrated how different models can be used. The course emphasizes how AI can be utilized with practical examples and particular for health care professionals.  The course will cover the following topics:

• AI in Diagnostics
• AI in Treatment Planning
• AI in Medication Management
• AI in Patient Monitoring
• AI in Healthcare Analytics
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration
• AI and Patient Engagement

SUMMARY

This course is designed to provide nursing professionals with a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based practice (EBP) in the context of healthcare, with a specific focus on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will learn how AI technologies can enhance and streamline the process of gathering, evaluating, and applying evidence in nursing practice. The course will cover foundational concepts of evidence-based nursing, introduce AI applications in healthcare, and explore the synergies between EBP and AI.

Module 1: Introduction to Evidence-Based Nursing and AI

Understanding the principles of evidence-based practice in nursing; Overview of AI in healthcare and its potential applications in nursing; Historical perspective and evolution of EBP and AI in nursing

Module 2: Foundations of Evidence-Based Practice

Formulating clinical questions using PICO(T) framework; Searching for evidence: Effective literature review strategies; Appraising the quality of evidence: Critical appraisal skills

Module 3: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare  (1h in January pilot)

Basic concepts of AI, machine learning, and natural language processing; AI applications in nursing, diagnostics, treatment, and patient care; Ethical considerations and challenges of AI in healthcare

Module 4: Integrating AI into Evidence-Based Nursing Practice

Exploring AI tools for evidence synthesis and analysis; Enhancing clinical decision-making with AI algorithms; Hands-on experience with AI-driven healthcare technologies

Module 5: Implementation of Evidence-Based Nursing with AI

Strategies for incorporating AI tools into nursing workflows; Overcoming barriers and challenges in implementing AI-based EBP; Evaluating the impact of AI on patient outcomes and nursing practice
